What is the best place on the net to buy MB oil filters? Or is there a better filter to buy? When the parts guy at the dealer handed me the oil filter box, the drain plug washer was taped to the top.ģ. > Palm Beach Dealer still uses drain plug. Should I use an oil extractor or can I drain the oil using the oil plug? Before I get started I have a few questions:Ģ. Thank you for your information, if you have any.I have a 2003 C230 Kompressor Sedan that just went out of warranty/service and instead of giving the dealer $400 for B-service, I'd rather do the work myself. I hear that has been a lot of engine problems in C230 series of earlier versions of 2002-2003, which has been corrected from 2004 year. If so what was the result.Īppreciate any information on engine stalling in C230 series. Any legal action taken either against a Mercedes Dealer or Mercedes USA in this regard, by any individual. Any instances the Mercedes USA reimbursed any of the expenses on a vehicle repaired beyond the Warranty period, because it has been an existing problem in C230 series?Ĥ. What would be the average cost of replacing both the fuel pumps with sensors in such an above vehicle (C230).ģ. Is it true and is there any evidence any one is aware that it did indeed had fuel pump problems?Ģ. I heard 2003 C30 has had history of fuel pump problems and some of the vehicles were recalled, during the Warranty period for free replacement. By the time both were replaced, it took over 8-10 days of delay, and expenses for hotel and food and in addition nearly over $2,100.00 for repairs which was not covered by Mercedes Warranty.ġ. C230 Kompressor has twin fuel pumps and sensors. After a week or so by trial and error judgement, the Dealer thought it could be fuel pump. When I towed the car the Mercedes Dealer could not find any fault when the car was hooked up to the electronic diagnostic center. However the car would start again after few minutes, but the whole sequence reoccured. Accelerator had no effect, the car wold ultimately slow down in spite the engine was on, and the engine would cut off just before it came to a complete stop. While driving on Hwy around 70m/hr on cruise control, the cruise would cut off and the engine would slow down. After the warranty ran out I got into a problem of engine stalling on Highway. I have a 2003 C230 bought new in May 2003. ![]()
